Lesson 4 Systematic Teaching Approach
Lesson four emphasizes the use of a systematic approach to teaching which focuses on the student or learner. I have learned that this systematic approach to instruction is a network of elements or parts different from each other but each one is special in the sense that each performs a unique function for the life and effectiveness of the instructional system.
This lesson opened my mind on how important lesson planning is for teachers. As future educators, it is really a need for us to apply a methodical approach in delivering our lesson so that we can teach effectively and efficiently, and for our students to easily grasp the information we impart to them. We need to plan, prepare, and establish strategies so that we can achieve what we want to teach on that session.
In lesson planning, a teacher should consider the following:
I. Objective
II. Procedures
III. Evaluation
IV. Assignments
I knew that a teacher should 'begin with an end in mind'- he should have an objective or purpose. His objectives must be SMARTER, meaning...
S is specific
M is measurable
A is attainable
R is realistic
T is time bound
E is essential
R is result- oriented
The objective should also be based on the three aspects or domains of the learner: Cognitive, Affective, and Psychomotor.
