Lesson 2 TECHNOLOGY: Boon or Bane?

    
      Technology is already present in ancient times. In fact, technology indicates  the establishment of early civilizations like the civilizations in Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China which lead the people in that time to progress.What we experience nowadays is the development and advancement of technology through recent inventions in this age of Information Technology. As it is said, "The only constant thing in this world is change" which includes the ever changing technology used by mankind. Thus, what we need to do is to accept it.
 
      Technology is indeed a blessing to man. Through it, we can do things more easily and more efficiently than before. in the field of education, technology really helped enough to make the learning process more novel, stimulating, exiting and engaging with the use of multimedia.

      On the other hand, technology can also be a detriment to learning and development. When not used properly, technology can destroy an individual. The abusive manipulation of technology for evil deeds like cyber crimes and killing time in  the use of computers instead of using it to gain more knowledge access, will affect the productivity of the people especially the young generation who are supposed to be the hope of the motherland.

       In the end, it is in our own hands whether to use technology for our advantage or spoil it to our disadvantage. It is in our minds and hearts whether to gain benefits from technology or ruin our lives with our improper use of it. Technology is made for man. Therefore, we must not let it control us, let ourselves control technology. Well, lastly... it's just a matter of SELF-DISCIPLINE. We are the ones making it an advantageous or boon and disadvantageous or bane.
